Hire an AI engineer, dedicated to your business
AI that answers from your data. Tested before anyone relies on it.
Neon Link gives a US business one dedicated, full-time AI engineer who works remotely from the Philippines or India, with real overlap with your US business hours, building and running LLM applications on your own data. They scope each feature with you, build retrieval (RAG) over your documents and records, build agents that call your systems through tools, and write evals so every change is tested against real cases before it ships, with a person on your side approving anything that reaches a customer or moves money. It is quoted per engagement after a short call, with no setup fee, month to month.
Quoted per engagement. Page updated October 25, 2026.
What your Linker handles
- Scope each AI feature with you: the question it answers or the job it does, the data it needs and how you'll know it works
- Build LLM applications in Python or TypeScript on the OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini APIs, with models chosen for the cost and speed the job needs
- Build an assistant that answers from your own documents, tickets and records (RAG), not from whatever the model learned elsewhere
- Set up the search underneath it: chunking, embeddings, a vector store such as pgvector, Pinecone or Qdrant, and reranking where it helps
- Build agents that look things up and take the next step in your systems through tool calling, with scoped permissions
- Write evals from real cases before anything ships, and rerun them on every prompt or model change so regressions get caught first
- Add logging, tracing, error handling and rate limits, plus a cost and speed view you can read
- Write a short runbook for each system: what it does, what it costs to run and who to call
We screen for Python or TypeScript on the OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini APIs, vector search such as pgvector, Pinecone or Qdrant, and frameworks such as LangGraph, LlamaIndex or the OpenAI Agents SDK. Supabase, AWS, GCP or Azure, and eval tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse or Braintrust, are a plus. If a finalist has not used yours, you'll know before they start.
How the work is measured
What your Linker is measured on. The targets are set with you in the first week and written into your statement of work.
- Answer quality against an eval set built from your real cases, with the bar set with you
- Regressions caught by the eval run before a prompt or model change ships
- Running cost and response speed for each feature, in a view you can read
Who we put on it
- Signs a confidentiality agreement and passes a background check
- Works with real overlap on your US business hours from a quiet, private workspace
- Wired internet with a backup connection and a plan for power outages
- Clear written and spoken English your customers and partners can follow
How it starts
- Step 1Send us your job ad, or tell us the work on a 15 or 30 minute call with Dan.
- Step 2Get a written quote for the role, held for 30 days.
- Step 3We recruit and screen for your work and your tools, and you interview the finalist before they start.
- Step 4Your Linker works on your systems on your hours. A Neon Link manager runs the account and answers when you need them.
- Step 5If the fit is wrong in the first 60 days, we swap them at no cost.
A good fit, and not a fit
- Businesses that tried a chatbot and want one that answers from their own documents and records
- Teams with a clear AI feature in mind and nobody in house to build it, test it and keep it running
- Owners who want one engineer who learns their data and systems, not a new contractor for every project
- A quick demo or a strategy deck. This is one full-time person building and running systems you rely on
- Training your own model from scratch. Your Linker builds on the major model APIs
- AI that sends to customers or moves money with no one checking. A person on your side approves those steps
- A team or round-the-clock support. Your Linker is one person working with overlap on your US business hours

Questions owners ask
How much does it cost to hire an AI engineer through Neon Link?
It is quoted per engagement, because the scope and the seniority you need change the person we recruit. You get a written quote after a short call, held for 30 days, with no setup fee and month to month terms. For comparison, a US software developer costs about $16,210 a month fully loaded, using the BLS median wage plus employer costs.
What is RAG, and does my business need it?
RAG (retrieval augmented generation) means the AI looks up the answer in your own documents, tickets and records before it replies, instead of guessing from what the model learned elsewhere. You need it when the answer lives in your files: policies, product details, past tickets, procedures. Your AI engineer builds the search underneath it and tests the answers against real questions from your business before anyone relies on them.
How do I know the AI is giving the right answers?
Evals. Before anything ships, your AI engineer builds a test set from real cases in your business and checks the system against it, then reruns that check on every prompt or model change. The quality bar is set with you, and you see the results. Anything that goes to a customer or moves money gets a person on your side approving it.
Who controls what the AI can see in our systems?
You do. Your AI engineer works inside your accounts with the access you grant, and agents get scoped permissions, so they reach only the systems and records the job needs. Every system ships with logging and tracing, so you can see what ran. Which data goes to which model provider is your decision, made before the build starts.
How is this different from hiring a virtual assistant?
You get one dedicated person who works only for your business, on your hours, inside your software, and a Neon Link manager runs the account: pay, equipment, replacement if it comes to that, and a phone that gets answered. You never run offshore payroll or manage a freelancer alone. It is not a shared pool, a ticket queue or a 24/7 answering line.
How fast can someone start?
We start recruiting when you say go. You interview the finalist before anyone starts, and the start date is set with you once you pick the person. We would rather take the time to find the right fit than hand you whoever is free.
What if the person is not the right fit?
If the fit is wrong in the first 60 days, we swap them at no cost. After that, if they leave, we recruit the replacement at no charge and manage the handover. Training on your process runs at the normal monthly rate.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. Month to month is available on every plan. The 6-month plan trades a longer commitment for a lower monthly rate. A written quote at the published rate is held for 30 days.
