Outsourced medical billing and AR staff for billing companies and practices
Your AR does not care that you are busy.
Neon Link gives medical billing companies and practices one dedicated, full-time revenue cycle specialist, matched to the lane you need most: claims and AR follow-up, coding, prior authorization and eligibility, or credentialing and payer enrollment. They work remotely from the Philippines or India on your US business hours, inside your practice management system, clearinghouse and payer portals. It costs $2,995 a month, month to month, with no setup fee.
Rates are pulled live from the system we run the business on. Page updated October 8, 2026.
What your Linker handles
- Billing and AR: submit clean claims and clear clearinghouse rejections before they reach the payer
- Billing and AR: work denials and appeals, and follow aging accounts until they're paid or closed with a documented reason
- Billing and AR: post payments and remits, spot underpayments against the fee schedule, and reconcile what the payer paid with what the contract says
- Coding: assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS Level II and modifiers from the documentation, and query the provider when a note won't support the code
- Prior authorization and eligibility: verify benefits before the visit, confirm coverage, deductibles and copays, and track each authorization to approval, peer to peer review or appeal
- Credentialing: keep CAQH ProView profiles current, run payer enrollments and re-credentialing, and track licenses, DEA and malpractice coverage before they expire
- Work payer portals, clearinghouses and phone queues every day, with every call logged by reference number, name and date
- Escalate payer problems with the facts already gathered: claim number, call reference, timeline and what was already tried
- Send the provider or practice manager a short weekly summary of what moved, what's stuck and what's needed from them
We screen for the systems you run, such as Tebra (Kareo), AdvancedMD, eClinicalWorks, athenahealth, DrChrono, NextGen or Epic, and clearinghouses like Availity or Office Ally. If a finalist has not used yours, you'll know before they start.
How the work is measured
What your Linker is measured on. The targets are set with you in the first week, from your volumes and your hours, and written into your statement of work.
- How fast eligibility checks and authorization requests go out after the request comes in; the payer still decides how fast an approval comes back
- Every payer call logged with a reference number, a name and a date
- Payer problems escalated with the claim number, call reference, timeline and what was already tried
- A weekly summary of what moved, what is stuck and what is needed from the provider
Who we put on it
- Signs a confidentiality agreement and passes a background check
- Works your US business hours from a quiet, private workspace
- Wired internet with a backup connection and a plan for power outages
- Clear written and spoken English your customers and partners can follow
How it starts
- Step 1Tell us the work: a 15 or 30 minute call with Dan, or the sixty second scope on the homepage.
- Step 2Get a written quote at the published rate, held for 30 days.
- Step 3We recruit and screen for your work and your software, and you interview the finalist before they start.
- Step 4Your Linker works your queue on your hours. A Neon Link manager runs the account and answers when you need them.
- Step 5If the fit is wrong in the first 60 days, we swap them at no cost.
A good fit, and not a fit
- Billing companies taking on new provider clients faster than they can hire billers in the US
- Practices and groups whose aging AR keeps growing because nobody has time to work it every day
- Specialty billing, such as behavioral health, orthopedics, DME, anesthesia or oncology, where you want someone screened for that specialty
- Clinical decisions or medical questions from patients. A code the documentation won't support goes back to the provider as a query
- On-site front desk work: check-in, copays at the counter or paper charts in the office
- One person covering billing, coding, prior auth and credentialing at full depth. Each Linker is matched to the lane you need most
- Practices whose state Medicaid program or payer contracts do not allow patient data to be handled offshore. Check yours before you start

Questions owners ask
How much does it cost to outsource medical billing?
$2,995 a month for one dedicated, full-time person (40 hours a week), month to month, or $2,895 a month on the 6-month plan. There is no setup fee, and pay, equipment and management are inside that one number. For comparison, a US medical records specialist costs about $5,990 a month fully loaded, using the BLS median wage plus employer costs.
Can a medical billing company add dedicated AR staff this way?
Yes. Billing companies are one of the groups we place revenue cycle specialists with. Your Linker works only for your company, as part of your team, on the claims, denials, appeals and aging AR you assign, inside the practice management systems and clearinghouse you give them access to. It's one flat monthly rate per person, not a percentage of collections, so the number doesn't move when collections do, and you add another Linker at the same published rate when volume grows.
Can one person handle billing, coding and credentialing?
Not all four at full depth, and we won't pretend otherwise. Each Linker is matched to the lane you need most: billing and AR follow-up, coding, prior authorization and eligibility, or credentialing and payer enrollment, based on the lane they have worked and for how long. If two lanes each need a full-time person, you add a second Linker at the same published rate.
How is patient information handled?
HIPAA requires a business associate agreement before an outside party handles patient information, so one is signed before your Linker sees any. Your Linker signs a confidentiality agreement, passes a background check, and works from a private space where patient information can't be seen or overheard. We screen for people who understand the HIPAA minimum necessary rule and don't move charts onto personal devices, and they work inside your systems with the access you give them. Some state Medicaid programs and payer contracts limit offshore access to patient data, so check yours before you start.
How is this different from hiring a virtual assistant?
You get one dedicated person who works only for your billing company or practice, on your hours, inside your software, and a Neon Link manager runs the account: pay, equipment, replacement if it comes to that, and a phone that gets answered. You never run offshore payroll or manage a freelancer alone. It is not a shared pool, a ticket queue or a 24/7 answering line.
How fast can someone start?
We start recruiting when you say go. You interview the finalist before anyone starts, and the start date is set with you once you pick the person. We would rather take the time to find the right fit than hand you whoever is free.
What if the person is not the right fit?
If the fit is wrong in the first 60 days, we swap them at no cost. After that, if they leave, we recruit the replacement at no charge and manage the handover. Training on your process runs at the normal monthly rate.
Do we have to sign a long contract?
No. Month to month is available on every plan. The 6-month plan trades a longer commitment for a lower monthly rate. A written quote at the published rate is held for 30 days.
