The role
Neon Link places remote forward deployed engineers in the Philippines with US companies. A forward deployed engineer doesn't hand over a slide deck and leave: you learn how a US small or mid-size business actually runs, pick the workflow where AI will pay off first, build the solution inside the tools the team already uses, and stay until people rely on it. Half the job is engineering and half is listening: you run discovery calls, watch how the work gets done today, explain tradeoffs in plain English, and adjust when the first version meets real users.
We care more about what you built than the courses you took: show us something you shipped for a real team, tell us what it did and what kind of business ran it, and leave the client's name out.
We are hiring for this role now. Depending on the engagement, the work is project based or full time, at a rate agreed up front. We never charge a fee to apply, test, train or start.
What you'll do
- Run discovery with the client's owner and team: sit in on the work, map the process, and find the workflow where AI will pay off first
- Turn what you learn into a short written plan: the problem, the proposed solution, the systems it touches and how success will be measured
- Build and ship the solution inside the client's tools, using LLM APIs, retrieval, agents or automation platforms such as n8n, Make or Zapier, whichever fits the job
- Connect it to the client's systems, such as their CRM, help desk, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, through APIs and webhooks, with a person approving anything that goes to a customer
- Train the people who use it, collect their feedback, and ship fixes and improvements quickly in the first weeks
- Track adoption and results against the measures agreed with the client, and report them plainly every week
- Leave a runbook and a clean handoff so the client's team can run it without you
- The team uses the solution in their daily work, with adoption measures and targets set with each client
- A real change in the workflow you picked, measured before and after
- A client who asks what you should automate next
What you bring
- 2 or more years building software or automations for real users, including at least one AI or LLM solution a team relied on
- Client-facing experience: discovery calls, demos, requirements gathering or onboarding with business users
- Comfortable with Python or JavaScript, APIs, webhooks and LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini
- Clear spoken and written English: you can run a call with a US business owner and explain tradeoffs without jargon
- Available for at least 4 hours of overlap with US business hours for live work with the client's team
- Careful with client data and access: you work only in the accounts a client sets up for you, keep their data, code and API keys out of personal accounts and public repos, and before your first client project you'll sign a confidentiality agreement and pass a background check, including a current NBI clearance
- Education: any degree or none; what you built matters more
- A background in solutions engineering, consulting, implementation or customer success engineering
- CRM or help desk admin experience in tools such as HubSpot, Salesforce, GoHighLevel or Zendesk
Work setup
- Your own computer with 16 GB of RAM or more and an Intel Core i5, AMD Ryzen 5 or Apple M series processor or better, on Windows 10 or 11, macOS or Linux, with a webcam and a headset
- Fiber internet of at least 50 Mbps, with a mobile data or second provider backup
- A UPS or generator so a brownout doesn't drop a client call or a deploy
- A quiet workspace for client calls and screen shares
- Tell us your city and province when you apply; we hire across regions, so one storm or outage doesn't hit everyone at once
You'll do well here if
